SANTA’S
HAT.
Children It’s Story Time Again. I am going to tell you are a story
about my hat. I bet you have noticed my hat is too big. Well, I will tell you
why.
It was one Stormy Night on Christmas Eve and I had just finished
delivering the presents in the United Kingdom and I was about to set off to
America.
I always stop to feed my Reindeers before the long journey across the
Atlantic and I always stop on Plymouth Sound. That was where the Pilgrim Fathers
left England to settle in America. Oh I remember it well.
That Night the wind was howling and the rain was lashing down, so I took
off my hat and there inside were the carrots for the reindeers. Now Children,
that is a secret, where I keep the carrots, so don’t tell anyone because we do
not want Gregory the Greedy Reindeer to find out where I store the Carrots.
Just then, I heard a voice, help me Santa, It was Larry the Lighthouse,
Santa the Light has gone out in my Light House and the Sailors will be in danger
if they can not see the Light House they will not know where the dangerous rocks
are. I looked at the Light House and it was painted Red and White and that gave
me an idea. I climbed to the top of the Light House, took my Hat off and I
stretched it over the top so everyone could see it. I then heard the sound of
the ships letting off their fog horns in appreciation to let me know they could
see the Light House.
Must be on my way Larry, I must hurry I have presents to deliver, I will
return for my Hat when the storm dies down, Merry Christmas.
We took off from the United Kingdom and headed across the Stormy Sea,
parachuting presents onto all the Ships down below that we passed.
Then in the distance I could see a bright light through the Storm as we
approached America. The light was the Torch from the Statue of Liberty. I always
fly into the USA this way so I can deliver a present to Lady Liberty.
She turned around and waved and said Merry Christmas Santa, Welcome to
America, as she stood alone braving the Storm and protecting the Sailors.
Where is your hat, she said, I’ve left it in England to help the
Sailors see the Light House but when I’m finished delivering the presents and
the storm has died down. I will go back for my Hat.
I delivered all the presents around the world then I rang Mrs Clause to
tell her I would be late back home because I had to go back for my Hat.
On the way back I passed the Statue of Liberty and she was drying off
after the storm, but I could see that see was happy and she was wearing her
Christmas Present, a diamond ring.
When we got back to England I said to Rudolph, do not land, we do not
want anyone seeing the sleigh on Christmas Day. We circled Plymouth and down
below I could see all the children riding their new bikes in the streets that I
had delivered, it made me so proud.
We stopped by the Light House and I stretched across and grabbed my Santa
Hat, but I fell out of the Sleigh. Luckily my Santa Hat is a magic hat and it
acted as a parachute and landed me safely onto the ground. Children don’t you
ever try this because it is only my Santa Hat that is magic.
I got back onto the sleigh and put my Hat back on, but it had been
stretched and it was far too big, it kept falling over my eyes. This happened
all the way back to the North Pole and the Reindeers could not stop laughing.
We arrived back at Santa’s Village just in time to listen to the Queen
of England addressing the Nation. I once met her Majesty, but that is another
Story.
See Children a Santa Hat is very important, It makes the girls pretty, it
makes the boys look fun; I think everyone should wear a Santa Hat this
Christmas. I must get Mrs Clause to alter my Santa Hat for me, Merry Christmas.
